Danica came from racing Fighter Jets on wheels to racing tanks. She’ll probably do fine.

Just seems to me that it would be a little more intense to race a 200mph tank with 43 other 200mph tanks touching a bumping and hitting your tank, than racing a high tech go-cart 50 yards from the nearest high tech go-cart. Just saying.

Weird. The link you posted says the race starts at 1:00 PM ET, but NASCAR.com says 12:00 PM ET.

My link came off of the Daytona Speedway site. The individual tack site usually have a page with the schedule of events down to to minute. TV sites all want you tuned in for their pre-race.

It's all out the window now with the rain! It may be on when I get home from work tonight at 11pm.

Like you said its all out the window but 1:29 was the time. Its a shame everybody couldn't get together on it. O well no big deal. Its just a waiting game nowl I think they're drying the track now

I hope the race can be run tomorrow but the forecast for Daytona area doesn't look good. The race could be run Tuesday if rain continues.

Monday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a high near 75. East southeast wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Monday Night: A chance of showers before 1am. Areas of fog after 1am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

I don't know but I am pumped that it is a night race. My vote is that Danica, and Logano wreck before the 200 mile mark. As for the winner I want Smoke, or Kurt Busch to win. However I think it will be the evil brother Kyle

It is going to be a sketchy race. Rubber washed off the track. Running at night with very limited night practice. Can't work on the setups before the race.

I am guessing there will be a competition yellow by lap 20 to give them a chance to see what tires are doing.

I m thinking almost anyone could win this race.

50 yards from each other? Do you know nothing about motorsports?

It amazed me that she took her hands off the wheel before she hit. That's would be sooo hard to do.

Its actually kind of instinctual. At least it was for me. When I was doing road course events, any time I knew that I couldn't recover, letting go of the wheel was natural. Its just something that you do.

Those drivers must be strapped in pretty dang good considering the speed at which she hit the wall and she barely moved in the seat.

The seats are fitted to the drivers. They aren't just off the shelf parts. They are exact to her size. Between the bolsters that are pretty much keeping her in place, the 5 point harness and the HANS, about the only thing she can do is turn her head side to side.
