Hey Guys,

I am not sure where to post this so thought I would try it here. If this post is in the wrong place, let me know and I'll move it.

Yesterday I had a family member that had his house broken in and had some guns stolen on Happy Valley Rd. That's in Tallassee TN, off Chilhowee Lake, in case you didn't know. I'm pretty sure it is the last road before you start over the Tail of the Dragon going into North Carolina.

The thief(s) took a blued Dan Wesson .357 magnum revolver with around a 5 inch barrel. I am not sure of the model but it was one of the ones with interchangeable barrels. It is also kind of rough and I reblued it for him a couple of months back.

They also got a Winchester 1200 12ga. with original wood stock, a stainless Pietta .44 caliber black powder pistol (I think it was missing the front sight) and a Gamo Big Cat air rifle with a fluted bull barrel.

I wanted to put this info out there in case anyone runs across any of these weapons for sale for some crackhead price or something.

The Dan Wesson is the most important to him. It's not an expensive pistol or even super nice, as far as that goes, but it was a gift from his late wife and he had had it for like 20 years or so.

Anyway, thanks for reading this post and please PM me, or contact the Blount County Police Dept. if you have any info that could be of use in helping find his property.

Dave

Sorry for your loss! I am looking for a Smith and Wesson model 659 TBF4157 Pachmayr grips, keep your hopes up! I was at a gun store recently owner said he recovered a gun stolen in 1992.

I will keep a eye out for the Dan Wesson. I really like these revolvers and i typically handle each one i see on display to see if it might like to come home with me. Did he record the serial number? I would put it in my wallet and referance against the ones i see in the area if you can obtain that informaiton.

Thanks for replying. I will watch out for your S&W 659 as well.

I did get the numbers from him. The Dan Wesson's serial # is 170654. The Winchester 1200 serial # is L12699313.

Thanks again,

Dave

That Dan Wesson isn't real common these days so unless the thief keeps it, your friend has a good chance of getting it back. My friend got a glock of his back after being stolen 2 years prior so tell him not to lose hope.

That area is known for issues plus its secluded. There are some outlaws out there to put it mildly.

I'd watch the lines at the gun shows. Gonna be the easiest place to sell unless they keep it for themselves or fenced it cheap.

Hope you get it back, but don't count too heavily on it. I had a Dan Wesson like the one mentioned in the OP,

along with a Remington model 742BDL 30/06, ammo, knife, etc. stolen from my Bronco, back in the

mid 80's. Never saw them again. Still carry the serial #s in my wallet & check at each gun show if I see one

on the table. No such luck.....so far.

Hopefully, your situation will turn out better than mine. Never give up looking. I still am.

terrible story and sorry. I had a cheap FEG PA63 stolen out of my explorer in Alaska. They took my video camera with a hard disk drive too. That was 2008 in NC. Police call from time to time to see if i got it back. Still haven't seen it.

Dave, you may have already checked, but if not, go to www.###.com and check it each day, it may show up there.

Good luck.................. ; ^ )

Thanks, I will check that site out as well. I know it is unlikely that they will ever turn up, but you never know.

I appreciate all the help folks.

I stopped in there last time I was in Maryville and was surprised. They had quite a bit more than I imagined they would.

I'll tell him to make sure he checks there though. I know he passes there a lot more often than I do.

Thanks
