I live to far away for the first two. and midtnshooters does the idpa in sundays... I guess if i want to try doing the idpa i will have to go up on sunday.. I would like to catch somebody up there so i could find out the ins and outs on the sport. I have no clue on what or how to do it. And what to bring.. I do have a handgun carry permit.

You might also try to see when the group in Sale Creek shoots; looks like an hour from you. It looks like they shoot IDPA on the 4th Saturday of each month.

Boonie, I shoot at the club matches in Manchester some. Great group of people. There always seems to be a new shooter, and everybody is always very helpful. AS far as equipment goes. You need a safe, reliable pistol, at least 9mm. A good holster(I have seen new shooters use IWB holsters, but a good OWB holster is the way to go, belt loop Kydex, or a Fobus type if you have it). You will also need 3 magazines, and a holster system for them. A concealment garment(can be a hoodie, shooting vest, etc). And bullets. Of course eye and ear protection. I will warn you, it's a lot of fun and extremely addicting!

not sure where tracy city is but i shoot at RattleSnake Ridge out near Woodlawn TN/Clarksville area. they usually do 4th saturday of each month.
