Music City Shootout II

Music City Tactical Shooters in conjunction with Glock will be hosting the 2nd Annual GSSF Match - Music City Shootout II on May 19th and 20th 2012. Registration can be done at the match or online.

Great type of match for kids, individuals with disabilities, the new shooters, and experienced shooters. This is a match of accuracy more than speed. What better way to win money, prizes, and Glocks than a GSSF? Prizes are based on performance and random drawing. Think of it.....you could tank the match and still win a gun.

Amazing most of the 198 entries were out of the state of TN. Let's show our TN pride and show the outsiders how we do it in TN.

For those that help run the match, they will be entered into a drawing for a free Glock pistol possibly two at no charge. Please email me at President@mctsclub.com for more details. Glock will be providing things for the range officers themselves. All training about the match will be given at the range. No special certifications required but helpful.

You must be a GSSF member to participate in the match but not for the drawing. Glock will draw names for money, extended membership, guns, and other prizes within the month based on performance and at random.

Last year's event was great. This is a fantastic match for the new shooter while still being a challenge to the more experienced shooters as well. All you need is a Glock pistol to enter. There are multiple groups/categories, prizes for placing, random prizes, and a great chance to see some Glock competitors. Last year there were groups from as far away as Florida.

If you've been to the MCTS Intro to IDPA match or any others, this is a great event to attend.

For those that do not have a Glock(and I can not understand why not), I have some to loan out at the event as long as factory ammunition is being used.

Michael I was gonna take you up on using one of your guns for this match but I just got me a Glock 34. What is the rules and can I sign up as a member the day of the match? Don't know anything about it.

You can do everything you need the day of the match. It will nice to have you at the range. Consider staying overnight with some buddies so you can shoot 5 different entries in two days or do 5 entries in one day

You can sign up with GSSF the day of the match. I do reccomend joining online and registering for the match online @ http://gssfonline.com/

You will save $10 by doing it online in advance. There are a lot of GSSF competitors that travel all over the country hitting as many of these matches as they can. There are performance based and random pistol winners at every GSSF match.

You can save even more by working the match, hint hint.

You can still use some sub compacts(26/27), heavy metal(30/36 in 45ACP) or even open Glock for the other divisions.

I haven't shot any kind of competition since High School (which was an unfortunately long time ago) but am considering starting to do IDPA and think I can borrow a Glock for this. Hopefully I won't make too much of a fool of myself.

Can I work the match without being a GSSF member?

Absolutely.

Will you be able to wear a Glock shirt for the day? Or will your contract with Springfield be broken?

Working the match automatically puts you in the drawing for Glocks given away to the ROs working. You will not be able to shoot the match unless you are a GSSF member. When was the last time Springfield Armory or Smith & Wesson put on a match promoting their weapons......hint, does not exist.

I'll confer with the legal department.

How true that is.

Of course an XDm kinda speaks for itself. :stir:

That makes two confirmed non members via email earlier this morning and one possible and another confirmed non members wanting to help run this match this evening. Looks good starting out with help to push more people than last year. Hopes to have the biggest number of entries in TN GSSF this year.

Update on the GSSF match - Music City Shootout II.

I truly hope there will be more soldiers/individuals attending that find it hard to shoot at conditions normally found at ranges. It is an honor to have any soldier attend the match.

Sir,

First, I would like to thank you for the service you provide ensuring our freedom. Second, I will personally see to any accommodations you need to shoot the match. You will have me as your personal valet during your stay for the GSSF match.

Sir,

My apologies for not answering sooner. Our range is not what I would

generally consider to be wheelchair accessible it has natural loose surfaces

and some steep hilly terrain. I've copied our club president Michael Bresson

who is in charge of our GSSF match to see if he has any additional thoughts.

Best Regards

Subject: Wheelchair accessible?

Good Evening,

I recently joined GSSF and plan on shooting the GSSF match at your

facility in May. However, I am paraplegic and am confined to a wheelchair.

I was wondering if your range is wheelchair accessible. Any info would be

greatly appreciated. Thank you.
