mid 40's and rain here. Saw a few flakes, but its far too warm to stick. If there's any overnight, it'll be gone before lunch tomorrow.

Was at CHMR when it started here. It came down good but didn't stick. Now if it all freezes tonight, tomorrow will be nasty.

?? It's going to be in the 50's there tomorrow.

So they say. Most of the time they're close....but this is TN and if is a big word. You know what they say, if you don't like the weather in TN, give it a minute, it'll change.

Rained and it was earlier predicted to get pretty cold overnight in the Chatt area, but weather.com isn't predicting it to get really cold right now.

A question-- In the Chatt vicinity a pattern that plays out very often, sometimes multiple times per winter-- It will warm up into the upper 30's or higher and rain, then they will predict the rain will tail off during the night while the temp drops below freezing. Very typically there will also be a decent wind (wheras Chatt doesn't typically have much except very mild breezes).

Anyway, if ever the roads would still be wet around 10p or midnite when the weather gets cold enough, there would be icy roads. But either thru coincidence or pattern, the roads almost every time blow dry before they freeze. In that kind of sequence, the roads rarely stay wet enough to get slick when the temp suddenly drops.

Had wondered if this pattern is a coincidence of our local climate, and would not be a common pattern in warmer or colder locales? Or whether this same thing tends to play out regardless of latitude? Winds blow the roads dry before the freeze?

It snowed pretty good for a bit a couple hours ago, but it's too wet for it to stick to anything.
