I recently acquired a S&W model 469. I discovered there was recall on the pistol.

Have anyone dealt with S&W with a recall this old??? Whats the the chances of them honoring a recall being this old and I not being the orginal owner???

Haven't dealt with them personally on this recall, but I don't think any recall expires since it was deemed to be a safety issue. That should also be true even if you aren't the original owner.

Just went back and saw my original post left out a key word which I've now added. Sorry.

What is the recall issue?

I have both a 469 and 669 which serve alternately as my carry pistols. They've each been with me for more than 10 years and have had range time at least monthly. Neither have had the first mechanical problem.

I appreciate the info link, neither of my pistols fall within the serial number range. I still did the recommended check with hammer at half-cock, and both fell into the at-rest position when the manual safety was operated. I prefer to know for sure!

Thanks again

I had an issue with an M&P15 that had a crooked gas block. Never noticed it because I ran optics with no BUIS. I put a set of backup iron sites on and noticed the issue 2 years after purchase. They sent a FedEx label to me and I called FedEx to setup a pickup. I had the gun back in about 2 weeks. It was the best customer service return experience in any industry I have had.

Just got off the phone with S&W. And I will be sending it in.

Im really happy with this pistol. Looks like a LE trade in. Due to the "mpd" and possible badge number carved into the bottom of the mag (I could be wrong).

This thing looks 95%, like new condition. Looks like it was never carried, everything is crisp & tight, very litle to no wear. I suspect it sat in the PD armory or in a safe all these years.
