Taurus Judge- New v. Old, Polymer v. Allow v. Steel ???

So, I just bought my first Judge from a TGO member and I'm looking for opinions

Mine is an older iteration: Ported 3" barrel with the factory mounted rail under the barrel.

Other than the obvious weight / size, what aare the functional or performance differences between the different types of Judge?

None.

The longer the barrel will hold a group of buck shot/defense disks a bit tighter a little farther, but otherwise they operate the same.

My 3" seems a little more accurate at 25yds with .45 than my Poly. Frankly I don't notice much difference in recoil between the two despite the weight difference.

The ported barrel may flash blind you in low light, so you'll have to wait for your pupils to dilate before your next shot.

Enjoy, fun guns.

Ok. So I love the way mine shoots. Don't really care for the front sight.

Suggestions for replacement ?

Cautions on fit / finish ?

Mine has the orange light-gathering fiber optic. After 50 rounds of .45LC, it's coated is goop.

Would like something in steel.

Did get "flashed", but I WAS pointing toward the target downrange with my index finger exteded when my son fired it...

Blistered the back of my hand!.

Note to self... Being behind the muzzle isn't always far enough back.
