Hi guys,

Other than the public range at Stone's river, which are the best places to shoot a rifle? Are there any clubs that are accepting members in the Nashville area? Thanks

Yeah.. heard that about the Cheatham range. Plan on checking it out someday but read somewhere that you should go with a posse. And I usually just shoot alone or with my wife

Great range. Get there when it first opens or M_F if you can. Have one person stay with guns, heard many a story of people grabbing guns while you are down range. The road is right there and they are gone. Watch

out picking up cardboard at backstop the Copperheads live under them.

Yeah, early to mid-day at the Cheatham range isnt bad at all, often you may be the only one there. Although I havent heard of guns getting snatched down there, I dont doubt it for a minute. We should get a TGO posse down there some time.

We should get a TGO posse for a shoot somewhere. Despite the idiots and copperheads, the Cheatham range does sound interesting. Where else can you shoot milk jugs unless you have a lot of land.

There are places to shoot Rifles around Nashville.

How long of a rifle range are you looking for?

Which side of Nashville are you on?

How far are you willing to drive to shoot?

I'm in north west Nashville. Close to Ashland city highway actually. I would be happy with a 50yd and 100 yd range. With the price of gas nowadays, I would like to drive less than 45 mi. The only places I know of now are Cheatham's and Stone's river. Are there any other? Thanks

I would check out

http://www.owlhollowgunclub.org/ first and see if it's within your driving distance. It will be your lowest cost and best availability.

Then I would check with http://www.mctsclub.com/ who uses http://www.redriverhabitat.com/ for some of their IDPA matches and see what they might have to offer.

Other Options beyond 45 Miles are

http://www.maurycogunclub.com/ 200 yards Open Sat and Sun

http://www.midtnshooters.com/ 100 yards Open except for Match days

300 Yard Range available through onsite Gunshop.

http://www.ntps.org/ 150-200yards, Mainly a USPSA Club w/Limited availability

http://www.gallatingun.com/ Closed to new members.

http://www.rattlesnakeridge.org/index.html Don't know if they let you shoot there.

Good Luck...
