Bumper Sticker Questions

As someone that is in the printing business, and as much as I would like a TGO bumper sticker, I have to agree with TGO David on this one. If you don't protect your intellectual property it will eventually be used in ways you don't agree with.

Opinion noted, however... that's not the route we'll be taking. For the life of me, I don't understand why this is so hard for folks to wrap their heads around. :meh:

1.) It's not entirely about the money, but most important it is about protecting intellectual property and controlling the "image" of the TGO brand.

2.) TGO is a sideline business for me. It doesn't generate a ton of revenue and isn't going to support me or my family anytime soon, but my time and effort is worth something. If you disagree and think I should take days off from my regular job to upgrade forum software, and should take time away from my family to work on forum projects in the evenings and weekends, and do all of that for free... then there's some sort of fundamental breakdown in your logic that I really can't understand nor help you with.

Sorry, but this absolutely is not up for discussion.

Anyway... apologies to the original poster of this thread. Hopefully they can get their business off the ground and enjoy some financial freedom as a result of it. Maybe some of this sideline discussion will have tangible benefit for them when it comes time to protect their assets. :)

I'm a benefactor so obviously I like it enough to pay.

I get that this is a sideline deal, more out the goodness of your heart than a profit motive and I appreciate it. But why wouldn't you want to go full time? The commute is short. As I've said you are wasting an opportunity but I don't think you're really wasting a big opportunity.

All that said.... I bet (without any inside knowledge) that benefactors are better for the bottom line than people who just post.

(Actually I suspect that isn't necessarily true, the community drives this)

So people want stickers, I'd give them stickers. Sign up to be a benefactor, get a sticker.

Didn't David just say this is "absolutely not open for discussion"? I thought that was pretty clear. :P

So back to the O.P. (kind of). The last bumper sticker I bought (and I would buy another one if I happened to see it for a reasonable price) said, "My other car is a piece of sh!t, too!"

I think this could be a viable business, but it seems there's a bunch of competition - seems like everywhere I go I see racks of bumper stickers. Most start out being priced at $3.00 - $5.00, but end up sitting and collecting dust until they get marked down to 3 for $.99 . I would definitely want to do some research and make sure I had a quality, custom product before I jumped in with both feet.
