Well, it appears some people have some sense.

The council passed it unanimously? They should all be gone.

The laws:

Permit authorities to seek a judge's order to remove guns from people declared to be a risk to themselves or others.

Ban people who are subject to a protection-from-abuse order from owning guns.

Require gun owners to report to police theft or loss of a gun within 24 hours of the discovery.

Ban possession or sale of assault or contraband firearms within city limits.

Limit firearm purchases to one a month and require buyers to obtain a police certification that they have not purchased another firearm within the previous month.

Just some more useless laws......

The laws:

Is this not already possible?

Ban people who are subject to a protection-from-abuse order from owning guns.

Again… is this not already possible?

Require gun owners to report to police theft or loss of a gun within 24 hours of the discovery.

Is this a problem?

Ban possession or sale of assault or contraband firearms within city limits.

That’s the big one. All firearms will be on the list of contraband.

Limit firearm purchases to one a month and require buyers to obtain a police certification that they have not purchased another firearm within the previous month.

Let me guess….. for a fee. $$$

let me get this straight. some jackass says "this guy is crazy!" so that gives the police the ability to not only invade that person's home and remove his chattels, but violate his right to due process.

limiting the purchase of firearms to 1 a month...hmmm sounds like infringement of the peoples right to keep and bear arms. then again.they all do!

I think there ought to be a law that exisiting gun laws be enforced before any new ones may be ennacted.

That would be to hard to do.Its much easier to make a new one then enforce an old one :P
