HB 2619 Constitutional Sheriff bill

Recommended Posts

Did a search but didn't see anything for HB 2619 , I have heard it called the Constitutional Sheriff bill.

Here is a summary,

http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/tennessees-bill-hb-2619sb-2669/question-2441383/

The Tennessee legislature will consider HB1629 and SB2669 in the 2012 session which would nullify the detention provisions in the federal governments NDAA as it is beyond their authority given to them under the US Constitution.

Mike Maharrey communications director of the Tenth Amendment Center called language in the NDAA "vague and overbroad, pointing out that Americans should never simply trust in the good intentions and moral clarity of the president or federal judges to protect their rights." He added that "it falls on the states to step in and protect their citizens."

The bill also inclueds a Class E felony for any agent attempting to enforce any federal law beyond their authority and includes provisions for kidnapping charges if a U.S. citizen is detained in Tennessee under the NDAA.

Washington and Virginia seem to be mulling over similar legislation. It is time to get the word to your state legislatures and start fighting for our freedom before it is too late.

Here is the full text of the bill.

It’s nonsense. Instead of passing a resolution stating the states stand on NDAA; let’s introduce a bill filled with threats that we can’t back up.

Something like this, perhaps?

"DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AND ORDINANCE dissolving the federal relations between the State of Tennessee and the United States of America.

First. We, the people of the State of Tennessee, waiving any expression of opinion as to the abstract doctrine of secession, but asserting the right, as a free and independent people, to alter, reform, or abolish our form of government in such manner as we think proper, do ordain and declare that all the laws and ordinances by which the State of Tennessee became a member of the Federal Union of the United States of America are hereby abrogated and annulled, and that all the rights, functions, and powers which by any of said laws and ordinances were conveyed to the Government of the United States, and to absolve ourselves from all the obligations, restraints, and duties incurred thereto; and do hereby henceforth become a free, sovereign, and independent State."

Didn't work out too well for old Tennessee but maybe we can talk Campfield into submitting it. ;)

How would you describe being taken from your home and imprisoned or worse without due process no phone call, no lawyer, and no rights, Under The NDAA the President can Target and Imprison or Opt to simply kill anyone including Americans That he see's Fit . This is All on a guise of Its for our Protection for Evil Doers and Terrorist The Bad thing is Hitler Did the Same thing Just before Revoking Gun rights for The peoples Protection Then he Turned into the Hitler we All Know and Despise only after Slowly amassing His Power and Control over the Germans By way of offering Protection . Maybe Im a nutjob For thinking This way but I Hope I the Wrong one here and Not the Other way around

Edit Just noticed your Other Post I love That..... We can Only Dream :)

Dunn has taken the bill off notice, and as the Sheriff's Association has not endorsed it, it is essentially dead. I never expected them to support this Bill, moves them out of their comfort zone and required them to take a stand.

Essentially the bill passed that requires Post certification to run eliminates the office from being a political position, and makes it virtually impossible to defeat an incumbent if they are not ready to step down. The only people that can run are deputies who will be relegated to the midnight shift at the jail if they throw their hats into the ring.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Passing a bill with idle threats is a waste of time. There are other, more viable avenues of "protest" to the NDAA. I know there are lots of you that think this bill was the greatest thing since sliced bread, but thinking that TN is going to arrest and charge a federal agent with kidnapping is sheer lunacy.
