WW2 bayonets

Recommended Posts

I've come into some of my late grandfathers things lately and among them are a couple of bayonets that I assume are off his rifle back during his time in the USMC or maybe a souvenir picked up on the battlefield. I am wondering if someone in the local midstate area is somewhat educated in those old bayonets that can tell me about them. As they are special to me for obvious reasons, I'm not interested in saleing them, I just want to know about them for conversational and display reasons. If anyone knows who to talk to, holler at me. Thanks.

If you care to take pictures of them and post them, I'm willing to bet that we can sort out the rifle they go to. if you take close pictures of the proofs at the base of the blades, I think we can tell you where they were made!

also, if they're not in the best condition (steel needs refinishing) drop an PM to Mark@sea. he can give you the info for a guy that does awesome work on them. I know this because he had HIS bayonet refinished by the guy and its beautiful!
