I think they are all carriers. You notice that Randall came back too and he was not bitten, at least according to Darrell. I think that is what the doctor at the CDC whispered to Rick as they were leaving. Reason being I think Rick knows is he made sure to get a head shot on both of the guys in the bar.

In the comics, if they can be considered cannon to the series, all dead come back regardless of method of death.

In Shane's case, Carl shot Shane. After Rick discovers that all death leads to zombies, he digs Shane's corpse back up, which is a zombie, he then shoots him.

The difference in the series is that Rick killed living Shane, Carl killed walker Shane. Opposite of the comics.

Very true!!! So are we suppose to think the walkers are from the boy's clan? I can't wait.

Well that would explain the large numbers, since the boy said that they were something like what? 5 miles away or something, and that there were about fifty or so of them? I also hope that Hershal and Maggie don't die, but it seems to be implying that.

Yes he said 5 miles. So that would be my guess is that it's his bunch.
