hello all i need some advice from those here who might current or former leo that can help me, my sister is a couple of years younger than me and she has a 1 year old baby who she yells at cause he wont listen, which bothers me and others to no end but she wont listen and thinks she knows more than anyone and thinks her baby is smarter than every other baby, but what kills me is that she will spank him if he dont listen to what she says, she will also hold him and "clean" out his nose or hold him while he crys and text on her phone, she lies, steals and sleeps around, is there anything legally that can be done?

Holy run on sentence!! To answer your question, at least offer my opinion, you may be able to do something. If you are truly concerned for the well being of the child you can contact DCS. They will investigate. As far as her lying and stealing unless you can prove she is stealing that's a moot point.

first off you have to make sure you are being a impartial observer. If you're just pissed cause she stole something from you and want to get her in some trouble over it that isn't going to work out well. If you are certain she's being abusive to the child you need to let DCS know right away. You should also be willing, since you are family, to take the child in.

Is she actually doing anything to endanger the child or creating a hazardous enviroment for the child? Not much information from just your post. I can understand people not liking everybody's style of raising a child but the law allows some leeway. Spanking your child is still legal and believe me I had plenty of it growing up as I'm sure most here did. If you believe something is wrong call DCS and they will initiate a investigation and if it appears to need LE involvement they will contact the appropriate department. You can also keep anonymous on your complaint or not it's your choice.
