I'm looking for some good but affordable .22 ammo that will function reliably and accurately in a variety of pistols and rifles. (Ruger 10/22 & Mark II, Marlin Model 60). I used to buy Winchester T22 target ammo but havnt saw any in years. I'm looking at Winchester M22, Winchester Wildcat, Federal Champion or any Bulk boxes.

Any and all input welcomed!

Thanks!

My guns do well with Blazer 40 gr., box ID 50021. Sportsmans warehouse had them at christmas for 16.00 a brick, so I got a case.

I use the CCI CB LR for around the house. They make less noise than my pelt rifle.

I've tried Federal bulk in several rifles with decent results but it's a bit dirty. I'm an Appleseed instructor and my rifles will go through 200-500 rounds in one weekend. I had to make sure that I cleaned them Saturday night or we'd have some sticky chambers.

I've recently bought 1000 rounds of CCI Blazer and feel it's much better and cleaner. A couple rifles do well with both and a couple like the Blazer better. The M22 is great, but you're paying a lot more. The Fed Automatch is good, but more expensive, like the M22.

I'd get a bulk box of Fed, Blazer and maybe 100 of the M22 and see what your rifle digests best. Dunns Sporting (online) has the best price on Blazer that I've found. But Duhams will occasionaly have sales on the Blazer bulk.

I am far from an expert on anything but I have never had any issues from the CCI Mini-Mags from Wally World, in fact I dont know that I have ever bought any other 22 ammo  My Walther P22 eats it up just fine as does the Ruger 22/45. FWIW :)

I have several hundred rounds that a friend gave me when his dad passed away in 2010 that is so old that the price sticker on it says $1.97 for a hundred round box, I have no idea of just how old that stuff has to be.

Some of the Blazer is made by Federal and some is made by CCI. By most accounts the CCI version is preferred. More info is available on rimfire central regarding this issue. I just bought a case of the CCI made Blazer and it has worked very well in a couple of my .22 rifles as my 'general' ammo. TTT

I settled in on the

I found the Blazer in bulk and in 50 rd boxes. Is there a difference?

No. Except you get 25 more rounds in the the loose pack. Sometimes price is same.

I settled in on these a year ago or more, really like them. Very consistent loads, no pfft, all full bang.
