Don't Do This

I was guilty of trusting my 1st firearm without testing it. I was 19, couldnt buy a handgun, so I picked up a remington 870 home defense, and had it at my bedside for almost a month before actually test firing it.

Not typically something I do these days, actually not something I do at all, but I dont wanna throw stones in this glass house of mine, haha.

How about one round of a problem in 20+ years with a Beretta 92 SB with ammo that I knew was too hot?

Guns should be reliable if you trust your life to it.

BTW I still carry the Beretta in the field.

Take it from me, just don't do that. At least fire the gun a few times before betting your life on it.

True! But, maybe he was going to be like everyone else in East Nashville-- Wait until he gets in the car before he takes few practice shots while driving down Gallatin Rd/Main St.

I suppose I'm the odd one because I have never bought a pistol that didn't jamb atleast once in the 1st few mags. I run them on through a few times and they work fine after they break in. Is that odd? Maybe I limp wrist a new one I dunno. But I wouldn't count on more than 3 or 4 shots coming out before a brand new gun jambed. If I got 100 rounds out of it I'd be pretty happy it would work like it had the last 50.

Maybe you should try a Glock.

I've never had a new one (S&W and Kahr) jam or malfunction on me either.

Glocks are subject to limpwristing too. I once saw a constable doing that with a new G23. I pointed that out to him and the next range session he wasn't having the problem.

I agree, although I have never seen it, I believe it. I was just trying to make a joke this time, though.

However, revolvers never care if they are limp wristed. Where is The Rabbi to throw that into the mix?

I'd say Rabbi will be back by tomorrow.

You would be right.

Yes, revolver dont care about being limpwristed. They dont care if you jam the muzzle against some guy's chest and pull the trigger. Of if you hold it right next to yours. They dont care about bullet weight or ogive.

You want to shoot .40S&W? Get a Smith 610.

Every Glock model that I have fired extensively (5K rds or better) has jammed at least once.

Try holding your wrist straight when you shoot. That ought to help.
