OBAMA/CLINTON DEBATE... (know your enemy)

Recommended Posts

"It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle."

Sun Tzu

Well I watch the big Dem debate. When the questions came down the guns and the 2nd amendment they both failed. Clinton emphatically said "I will reinstate the assault weapons ban immeediately"... Obama danced around every question asked.

All I know is if they get in Katti bar the door because gun sales will be out the roof.... then were screwed.

Thoughts?

Fortunately neither of those clowns can unilaterally ban anything. It would require an act of congress. And too many congressmen, even and esp Democrats, were elected on pro-gun platforms. They will not vote for something they'll have to explain to the folks back home. They are making soundbites for their constituents, trying to sound tough.

Guns will be way down on the agenda for any president.

Agreed. It wont be on the radar, barring another VA Tech. The gun-control movement serious over-estimates its power to set the agenda, and the RTKBA movement ALSO seriously over-estimates the power of the gun-control movement. (Probably on purpose in order to collect more $.)

Undoing the unmitigated disaster that has been the last 8 years will be more than a full-time job. I think the Supreme Court decision upcoming in June will be much more telling than which of the 3 stooges wins in November.

As a Democrat who generally holds his tongue when discussions like this appear on TGO, I find McCain a "Republican I can live with," a vast improvement over the current state of affairs. Either Clinton or Obama would be superior to him, and I see Obama as more electable and more able to unite the country than the shrill Clinton. So there you have it. I am an Obama boy.

With lots of time to go, I like McCain's current position. Let the other two tear each other apart, collect money and keep your powder dry till after the conventions. Meanwhile mend fences within the GOP and ponder the VP pick. Yep, its good to be John McCain -this week.

As was already said it would be very difficult for anyone to pass more restrictive gun laws, however do you really want someone in office who believes the following?

Obama - Supports extending the assault weapons ban. Supports national law against carrying concealed weapons, with exceptions for retired police and military personnel. Supports limiting gun sales to one per month.

I'm not trying to start any kind of debate with you, I was just making sure that you knew his stance on gun ownership. :D

I do not think that any kind of federal law banning concealed carry will ever happen. Even if it gets passed into law it will be immediately challenged in the courts, who will strike it down and say that it's up to the states to decide. I agree with the others that the politicians are going to have bigger fish to fry than gun control.

Yea Rabbi I agree with ya...

I could never vote for someone that could trample on the 2nd amendment, being a gun owner and in the industry its kinda like playing Russian roulette with three cylinders full... ya know?

As of right now I will vote for MacCain and will hold my nose while doing so. :)

Yeah. The next president will have to work hard to raise taxes substantially and expose the country to more terrorist threats. :)

Before the taxes are raised they should control spending, have accountability. Have a budget and stick to it like we have do at home.

where are the tax breaks for gas? they have enough in taxes, if Obama or Clinton get in with gas prices as there are watch how many jobs will be lost. Raise taxes and busineeses will lay-off more people, Higher taxes will mean a full recession.

I think it is very relevant to mention the fact that the next Pres. could appoint US Supreme Court Justices... You think that is important??

McCain says he will appoint Judges that are strict interperters of the Constitution.

Don't be lulled to sleep by these Dem. candidates......McCain is the one 2A believers should support. He is the best of the bunch.
