Need info on this old German single shot .22

I had never seen a 22 like this so I had to have it. You pull the plunger back and the top of the receiver lifts up to expose the throat. Almost like the opposite of a falling block. I assume it is German. This is on the barrel:

DEUTSCHE WERKE • WERK ERFURI

There is a logo on the receiver, stock and buttplate. It say Model 1 under the logo on the receiver.

Anybody familiar with this logo?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks. That is it. After reading some it appears that they made two versions of this rifle. This is the deluxe version. The logo is a cat. I thought it was a llama with a S.

Pretty cool reading so far. Looking forward to doing more research on this.

Thanks

You are welcome. I learned as much as you did, I do not KNOW all this stuff, I just am interested enough to find out and very good at searching the web. They also made some pistols that were sold in large numbers in the USA back in the depression.

Very interesting breech design. Kinda reminds me of the old Henri Piper fold up block Rook Rifles. Is it shootable?

Have not taken it apart and given it a good examine yet but as long as the barrel is good it should fire.

Better check out the action and everything, not just the barrel. Barrel is probably the least likely point of failure on that gun, from the pictures alone.
