Yet another argument against carrying firearms, although she was also charged with felony possession of a firearm so I'm assuming she didn't have a permit, and based on the drug possession I'm assuming she already has a record that prevents her from owning a firearm in the first place.

Didn't see anything about felony possession of the firearm. Unless she's barred from owning one, it's just a 'meanor, even with repeat offenses.

This story won't have any effect on carrying firearms by permit holders. Getting her nails done, marijuana, leaving the kids in there, no DL, lying to officers....She is a FAIL.

the woman was detained after she failed to produce a driver's license. Officers reported recovering a small amount of marijuana from her vehicle shortly thereafter. They recovered a loaded silver handgun from the vehicle after the woman's two-year-old son picked it up and pointed it at officers.

Yeah, unfortunately these are the cases that gun-grabbers refer to when making arguments against carrying in general. They ignore the fact that those who have HCPs undergo background checks and are generally responsible enough not to do things like this.

Yep, you can counter with the whole criminal deadbeat parent vs law abiding citizen deal. This will have a little impact, stuff like our Representative Todd getting nailed for DUI and having a handgun on him is what they will use. This story, unfortunately, happens a lot in large cities, it made news because she left her kids in the car while the nails were getting all shined up. If it wasn't for the kids, it might not even had showed up in the police blotter in the newspaper.
