Predator Custom Shop-Knoxville

I bought a Sig factory .22 conversion kit to put on my Sig P226 for some cheaper shooting with the gun. Could not get the takedown lever to go up when installing the kit. Took it to the Predator shop this morning. The gunsmith there found the problem in five minutes. Cost was "No Charge" and he wished me fun shooting with it.

If you need some gunsmith work in Knoxville I would suggest Predator Custom Shop. No affiliation, just found a great business to recommend.

Super great guys there. They have done multiple no charge little things for me, and because of that, I bring them all my business.

They are a great bunch of guys.

Their shop is very unique in our area. They are a true custom shop that will build you what you want and how you want it. Most other shops just sell what they order or what they have on the shelf. And most other shops will only do a repair if they order the part.

On top of that they are shooters and have a phenominal amount of knowledge about what it takes to be accurate.

They have always been the shop to say "yes" when every other shop seems to say "no" to my crazy ideas.

They are, indeed, great folks. Excellent gunsmiths, machinists, armorers, and all-round good folks.

Just to parrot everyone else, great service and great folks. They've done builds for several of my friends and did a refinish job on a Les Baer 1911 for me. Top notch all the way.

I bought an AR used from a guy that was built by Predator Custom. I called and talked to an employee there about the rifle, and he was extremely helpful. You would have thought I bought it new from them.

Top notch all around on these guys. A custom finish on one of my Sigs and helped out my wife w/a transfer. Courteous and competent. You can't ask for better.

Yeah. I think one of their big upgrades is air conditioning for their back rooms. They deserve it for all their hard work.

With all this praise maybe we should start a "Can't say enough good about Predator Custom Shop" social group. :-)

And their new safe will be a walk in. They are moving into an old Loomis Fargo or Brinks office. SO they had tons of security as well as a HUGE safe. They are downgrading a bit on size but more than makes up for it with air conditioning as well as the showroom.

I know I will be down there in the next few days to check out their new digs.

Anybody go by PCS today?

No but I intend to soon. Unfortunately I've been out of town a lot for work. I hope to get there tomorrow or Tuesday. I think their last place was a little turnoff to first time walk-in customers. I look forward to seeing the new setup.

I've had predator build me a bolt gun and a gas gun. Both are stupidly accurate. You should see the looks I get at the shooting range. I couldn't recommend any custom shop higher than Predator, and I've been to a lot.

Does anyone have experience with this shop's repair work on older rifles?

I have a fairly nice .22 Remington Special model 12CS pump, circa 1915, that has a cartridge feeding problem. Several gunsmiths (two in the Kingsport area and one locally) have tried to repair it but without success.

If the Predator shop isn't the first choice for this type of work is there another recommended place?

Thanks
