Question on shipping a rifle.

I have an old 60's model Remington 550-1. I have had it for 25 years and it needs a new stock and a few small parts. I found one on Gunbroker. It says it needs work. Basically a parts rifle. It is complete therefor requiring it to ship to a FFL. My question is, is there any parts that he can remove to make it legal to ship direct to me?

The receiver is the part that requires an FFL. If you don't want to deal with the FFL you can have him ship all parts (bolt/trigger assy/stock/barrel/mag tube) minus the receiver directly to you and he can keep the receiver. I don't own one so I don't know how hard it would be for him to take off the barrel and the mag tube, but it might just be easier to have it complete rifle shipped to an FFL if you can find one at a reasonable cost.

Yep.

Bill's Outpost in Alcoa is cheapest I know in Knox area: $20+TICS.

Bills Outpost

Always an excellent experience there.
