Mohawk Armory AR15

So I just found out that there's a company very close to my house that makes ARs, or at least AR lowers... I've never shot or owned any kind of AR and I was wondering if anybody has an AR by Mohawk Armory, and if so, what's the good and bad about them?

In a few words, spend your hard earned money elsewhere. At least right now.

Every startup is going to have issues and it is how they handle those issues is what is going to decide whether they survive. I wish them the best and I hope I can buy one of their lowers one day but I will not right now.

I have had very good luck with my lowers from Mohawk. Im not sure they sell just lowers now to the public.

I would buy these long before the PSA one.

When was the last time you bought anything from them?

The recent problems came up about October/November. The problems are MAJOR problems with their lowers, not some cosmetic blemish. I do know they are having problems correcting those problems so that tells me the issues are still there.

Prior to October/November I would have whole heartedly agreed with you Jeff but since then I can't say the same.

I know the owner (Jim Graham) , and have done a little work for him. I parkerized some silencer housings and some short shotgun barrels he was putting together for law enforcement. Jim is a stand-up guy. I have never worked on his Ars but from what Ive heard they have a good reputation. I think his customer base is mainleyLEO

Mine is over a year old but it has had no issues and houses a RRA 2 stage trigger group beautifully. It's been sporting the 458 Socom upper for the entire time I've owned it. If there are problems, they must be recent as stated above because the older one is just fine!!
