Ruger P89 question

when i bought my ruger P89 at a pawn shop in GA. they gave me a magazine with it. the magazine is a ruger and it fits the gun but it says ( 40 CAL ) on it what does this mean? is it the wrong mag? or will it work in it?

I just recently bought one of these from another member on here. He sold 6 mags with it, and all of them say 9mm. I have only had the gun for about a month, so I can't be of much help. sorry.

Have you shoot the pistol yet?

i have had the gun for a few years and i also have two more mags but i just like the ruger mags better. i have used it in the gun after i first got it. i was wandering if it is ok to use in it.
