Gentlemen and Ladies:

Greetings from Nashville. I'm a new member who just joined recently. I'm ex-military, former school trained infantry type who went to flight school and flew helicopters with the 1st Cav in Viet Nam. As a native country boy, I grew up hunting small game all my life (.22,.410, 16, 12). The military introduced me to a whole new range of wonderful firearms (.45, M-14, M-16, 7.62 M-60s, .50 cals, LAWs, mortars, and howitzers on call). Then I got to qualify with 2.75mm rockets on the B-model Huey.

Got to place exotic AF ordnance on my targets (indirectly through a FAC), but I guess the greatest rush of all was knowing that a flight of B-52s was a radio call away. Now THAT is firepower. Can you tell I miss the military? : - )

The Army also introduced me to larger, smarter targets who wanted me dead. I haven't hunted since returning from RVN.

Currently, I'm Concealed Carry qualified. Weapon of choice would be a baby Glock in .45 cal, but finances dictated that I settle for a 9mm Glock 17 (17 in the mag + 1 in the chamber) and a couple of .357 magnums loaded with hollow points. One of the 357s is an older single action frontier model Ruger to which my wife has laid a major claim. She can shoot, too. Ask her to tell you her rattlesnake story.

Anyway, that's me, warts and all. If I could turn back time, I'd be flying in Iraq or Afghanistan tonight. As it is, I'm supporting the effort from afar and trying to insure I don't become a victim to some meth or PCP knucklehead here at home.

Tight shot group, center of mass.

Cheers!

Cav
