TN often follows GA's lead on carry laws. Most recently, TN followed GA's lead on park carry and "bar" carry.

Following the history here, TN may see a similar bill within the next year or two.

Did they define a "Long Gun" as a weapon with a barrel at least 18"? Kinda' blows that whole carrying an AR for defense thing, doesn't it? (Unless you have a barrel longer than the standard 16") Mayhap, and I hope, I misunderstood the writing?

"Constitutional Carry" is an issue high on the TFA's list of goals for Tennessee. It would not do away with the current permit system (for state reciprocity reasons) but would essentially allow anyone otherwise legally able to own a handgun to be able to carry it within TN without needing to get a permit to do so.
