What do you mean? You can carry ANYwhere alcohol is served. Unless posted, just like any other biz.

THAT is what I mean. Myself and many others are still confused over the carry in places that serve alcohol part of the carry bill. I hadn't heard a clear determination of how it turned out back when all of the speculation and arguing was going on in the alcohol /carry threads on TGO. I got sick of reading it all and haven't checked back in on that issue for quite a while.

So...it DID pass and it is kosher to carry in establishments that serve alcohol?

Please state one more time just to be clear. (Y/N?)

Thank you in advance for the answer.

You live under a rock the past couple years? :D Yes you can carry anywhere that serves alcohol and is not posted. Gunbuster sign is also legal signage now.

Not past couple of years, just past 12 months or so on this point of the issue. We were still discussing what they were going to do back in Jan. 2011.

Knew about Gun Buster sign and all other issues, just not how the alcohol issue had panned out.

Y

Unless posted. Gun buster sign is now enough.

Thanks!

SORRY FOR THREAD HIJACK - BACK TO OP's QUESTION...

Current "guns in bars" legislation passed in June or July 2010 (another override over Bredesen's veto), so not sure who you were discussing it with. Maybe in some bar? :D

Not two years, but about 19 months or more ago.

And it really is guns in bars now.

Anyone know if they are posted? I was going to Ruth Chris tonight but just learned that they are posted.

I was in there for a bachelor party about 3 months ago and didn't notice any signs. I came in through the parking garage behind the place.

To clarify, I do not yet have my Permit (going Wednesday to fill out the paperwork at long last) but I have spent the last six months eyeballing every doorway I've walked through to see how much of a hassle carrying would be. I remember being surprised by Flemings as it was somewhat "upscale" and for some reason I thought a swanky place like that would cater to the anti-gun crowd. Shows that stereotypes go both ways, I guess...

Forget Ruth Chris. Way overpriced for what you get.

Jimmy Kelleys and Stoney River both have steaks just as good for way less. Jimmy Kelleys has comparable atmosphere and neither place is posted.

Ditto. If were going for a great steak (great, not just good, mind you), I would hit one of those places.

I have eaten at a lot of good steak places. All around the country. Stoney is hard to beat for $30-ish per entree…
