Pulled over on I40 @ Cedar Bluff for speeding, at approx 11.50 Sat night.

Officer walks up, asks for my DL and Insurance. (Didnt ask for registration)

Hand him HCP along with info asked.

Did not ask where, if loaded, anything about the pistol.

Was a VERY easy stop, and he ended up knocking 17 mph off what i was clocked at.

Ended up talking for 10 more minutes about my carry gun, what he carried.

was a very pleasant guy.

The HCP is not a license to speed??? Dang, I better slow down. Just kiddin', with more people now carrying, especially in the South, I'm sure it is an everyday occurrance for the police. Most are fine folks, just like the one that you met. It's the 'one bad apple' that......well you know.

Knocked off 17mph? At Cedar Bluff?

Hmm. 55+17=72, plus 5 that they'll let you have before they write you a ticket = 77.

At least 77 in a 55? You're lucky he was so nice. = )

Back in San Antonio, active duty military would just about have to beg for it to get a ticket. I knew I was blessed with a couple of warnings. You never expect it, but it's nice when it happens.

That may be so but they loved to hook us up for Public Intox
