Any levergun lovers out there?

Recommended Posts

The only rifles I've ever had are leverguns. I don't know if it's the kid in me or what, but the classic lines just look better than any bolt action rifle. I've got two Marlins (30-30 and a 22 Mountie) and one Winchester 94.

Any other leverguns lovers in TN?

Post some pics!!!!

Mike, get a 39A. You get ammo flexibility. And they are accurate. Too bad you can't find any that haven't been castrated (slightly lowered magazine capacity, and they have added manual safeties, unlike mine).

Marlin Golden 39A. Two Marlin 336's, one a 336 and the other a 336C. Very nice. I'll pull up the pictures later.

My first Rifle was a Marlin .22 lever action. I have my grandfathers old one now and love it. Love them. More into the Ak's at the moment but hard to go wrong with any Marlin lever action. A friend of mine has a Marlin 357 lever action, nice gun. He was wanting me to shoot it today but I declined cause I don't want to want another gun at the moment. It's ammo time.

I've got a Winnie 94 that was made in '67 and a Marlin 336 RC in a "Texan" stock that was made in '65. They're just light, easy handling rifles(or carbines).

Both of mine are in 30-30 and I've made up handloads that range from light weight "var-mist-ers" to plinkers that kick like a .22 rimfire, along with the regular deer slayers.

Last weekend, my youngest son and I attended a shoot with the Wartrace Regulators http://www.geocities.com/skydog200/wartrace Great fun! I got to try out a Winchester 66 and a 73(repro's) for the first time.

Every man who calls himself a rifleman, needs to own at least one levergun.

I have two lever guns that I absolutely love. My first is a Marlin 1895 in 45-70. The barrel has been cut down to 16" and mounted a scout scope on it. It is a great deer gun in the thick stuff.

My second is a .22 cal Henry levergun. This thing is a blast to shoot. Don't have any pics of it yet.

Creeky, The scope uses quick detach rings so I can pull it off and use the peep sight. The peep sight with fiber optic front sight is almost as fast as the scout scope at getting on target.

I shoot 325gr LeveRevolution and I don't think the recoil is very bad at all. It seems less to me than a 30-06.

I really want a Winchester Model 88 in 308 for a hunting rifle. I may end up with my dad's if I can quit smoking. I had a Marlin in 44 mag but i didn't really like it so i traded it for a 38 S & W snub nose. I also want a lever in 22. I like lever actions but haven't bought one yet there are too many pistols out there right now

Big time lever fan, here.

My first deer rifle was a Marlin 336 .30-.30 handed down from my dad on my 10th birthday. He killed his first deer with it at age 15. (He's 62 now). My grandfather hunted all through the late 30's with it before heading off to WWII. Needless to say, it has the sentimental value. It will go to my son four years from Saturday---the precise day my son turns 10.

I also have a pre-64 Winchester Model 94 in .30-.30 given to me by my dad.

Speaking of my son and this Saturday the 19th...little does he know...he has a brand new Henry Lever Action .22 LR hiding in my gun safe.

Guess you can say, he'll get "Lever-Fever" honest!!!!
