Seems like it would be a little awkward having to reach around the steering wheel. I guess it's a little better concealed under there.

I carry mine in a Wilderness Safepacker when I'm driving. Attaches to the seat belt and gives me quick access if I need it, and can be transferred easily and quickly between vehicles, or even worn on the belt.

It also has the "hidden in plain view" advantage.

I used to have a kydex holster screwed to the panel under the steering column. My back-up weapon rode in it. I found this set up to be much faster than drawing from the waist while seated.
