Well I decided to give my Remington 700 a face lift. I had Brandon at Middle Tennessee Gunsmithing give the action, base, and barrel a cerakote job in FDE. While she was being baked I gave my stock and bipod the Krylon Touch. Once I received my goodies back I reassembled them then gave the cerakote a bit of OD green and flat brown to match the stock and bipod.

Here's the specs:

Remington 700 Tactical

EGW 0 MOA Base

Harris 6-9 notched and swiveling bipod

Remington LTR/HS Precision Stock

Not shown are a Leupold VX-R 3-9x40 Patrol Scope and a set of Weaver 30mm medium Tactical Rings.

On with some snaps!

Kudos to Brandon at Middle Tennessee Gunsmithing. His work is inexpensive and he has a super fast turn around time. I had a Sig P6 and an old West German P220 slide also done. They look brand spankin' new!

Thanks! After a mishap with some blue loctite I had to replace my Weaver rings with a set of Burris Xtreme low's. I'll end up doing the same camo pattern to them then wrap the optic with some McNett Camo Form.

It's a .308. She likes 168gr SMK's. I was particularly impressed with HSM's 168gr match load as well as 168gr GMM's.

I have secretly lusted for a CZ 527 in 7.62x39. I can envision many a deer being shot with one of those. I do recall a 7.62x25 bolt gun on here.:D Now that would be a a hoot to send some rounds down range! Little recoil, big projecticle. I can't think of a greater recipe!

That was mine as well.

I actually considered building another in 7.62x25 but I decided against it because supplies of surplus have dried up. I still have about 500 pieces of Starline brass but I think I will like the 7.62x39 better.

I am ordering additional barrels in 308 so maybe I will make a barrel for the x25 as a plaything. It was the funnest gun I ever built. Now you guys have me rethinking my x39 plans.
