Was there today. The count when I left at 4:15 was 1 vendor shot, and 2 shoplifters caught. The show's are getting ridiculous

Gun shows are not what they were in the past. That is why I support my local gun shops. I haven't been to a show in two years and don't plan on going to one in the future.

When did gun shows change.

Since living here in Knox i have been going for the last 8 years.

They seem the same now as then.

I much prefer the Expo Center as far as venues

We worked a few gunshows before the economy tanked. Shop lifting is very common. At a show in Greeneville, Doc from Tac 2 got a suppressor lifted. There were people who were known shoplifters that everybody would watch, and the show hosts would follow around.

The increase in shoplifting is also an indication of the times we live in. The economy is depressed as well as the fact that criminals are no longer punished like they used to be. Heck if you beat the crap out of the thief they can sue you and likely win a lot more than they were trying to take in the first place.

Never been to a show at chilhowee, to close to a lot of shady areas.

That area is fine during the day.

I have ate on Magnolia on more than one occassion. I am on Magnolia every time I run into town. I have even ran out of gas in the middle of the night and other than a few beggers wanting crack money it was uneventful. The area of Cherrry srteet and Magnolia as well as the area around Scrugg's BBQ can get a little rough at night.

Some of the best pawn shop finds have been on Magnolia. My wife and I have found jewelery that would have been 5x as much in a retail setting.

I worked at the zoo in Chilhowee for a few years. Never had any issues. I can only recall 1 or 2 car break-ins during my time there. I'd travel all around that area going to the various parts vendors. Never any issues. Granted, I'd never go cruising around there at night.

I have been to shows at Chilhowee several times. I didn't think anything of the area. I have been in much worse.

I was there Saturday morning. It was the first time I'd been to a show at the JB and the last. There were far too many tables per square foot. It was way too crowded so I wasn't a bit surprised to hear of several incidences of shoplifting.

I much prefer the Expo center for gun shows.

Yeah, I've only been going to the ones at the Expo, Jacobs Bldg. very tight indeed.

Although, if you want to sell, Jacobs has traditionally been better, can just hang outside of building. They were preventing that at the Expo, but maybe cool there again now that they've replaced the private Gestapo with KPD officers.

News sentinel is running a bit about the shoplifter.

Seems this is not his first scrape with the law. Being he is a felon.

Imagine that, a felon still involved with crime.

Wasn't a good day for Bill Adams. Gets a gun stolen and shoots himself in the hand.

I thought it was cut the hand off of a thief not shoot yourself in the hand.

Also ironic, isn't Adams a Kodakite also?

I believe they are preventing you from doing that at the Jacobs Building now as well. I could be wrong as I usually don't take anything over there to sell. I am all for having them at the Expo Center. I usually skip the ones that they have at Chilhowee Park.

I was in and out on Saturday......too many people and no room for looking at tables. I searched over the ammo tables and left.....not worth the money to get in.....no more Jacobs Building, only the Expo center....

That is not the individual I saw being detained, he was older, and was being held on Saturday.

Well I've witnessed two cars driving down the road shooting at eachother while I was at quicko muffler, my dad was shot at near the area when a crackhead hid behind his truck from some guys in an escalade, and almost everytime I go to Pizza Palace during the afternoon or night I hear a gunshot. Its getting worse then it use to be.
