I know that this is probably posted somewhere, but My HCP expires in July of this year, Can't believe I have had it that long. When should I send in my money for my renewal to make sure that it doesn't lapse?

cool, thanks... looks like my next paycheck is gonna be $50 less! Can that be renewed online or do I have to go down to the DMV?

I say my next paycheck, but we just took a 14 yr old from my youth group into our home after he was kicked out of his home and have not made them pay anything. Makes i hard on the finances, but God will provide... yes, I know it is illegal for them to kick him out, but they are a couple of crackheads, so they don't care about the law anyway. We are working with DCS to get his sister too, so depending on whether we have to hire an attorney, depends on whether or not I renew this next paycheck.

You can do it at the DMV, or there's a number on the TN DoS website that you can call and they'll mail you an application.

They mailed me my renewal form. I mailed it in with a check and got my new permit is less than two weeks. I was surprised with how fast the turn around was.

same here they sent and I mailed, 2 weeks later it came in the mail no fuss no muss

Do they mail you a renewal app at your 6 month point regardless? I wasn't sure. My 6 month point is coming up next month.

I don't remember exactly how long out they mail it, but they do mail it when they send you the notification it will expire.

Also just a reminder, if you apply for a renewal before your expiration date and don't receive your new HCP before your expiration date, you can still carry with your old HCP and the receipt showing you applied for renewal.

I'd go renew in person. I had to pay twice last time I renewed because they didn't say in the renewal letter that they required a copy of your birth certificate now and didn't what is not 8 years ago. I no longer trust the mail in process since I still have $50 floating in the system somewhere.

Just another note....a copy of your birth certificate is no longer required to renew.
