HCP Age Question

I am currently 20 years old, will be turning 21 on May 31. Will any location that gives the HCP class let me take the class before I turn 21 so that I can get the ball rolling as soon as I become of age, or do I have to wait until my birthday to do so?

I would like to go ahead and apply early, but it seems that you have to be 21 to apply, according to the State of TN website listed in the resource page.

Any ideas?

According to Rule 1340-2-3-.05(8) of the Department of Safety - Handgun Safety Program a person as young as 16 may take the class. So hopefully some of the instructors on here in your area will invite you to a class soon.

I commend you on your eagerness to get the ball rolling on this and hate that you've had to wait to you were 21 instead of 18.

Thanks for the compliments. Most people want to turn 21 so they can drink. To heck with that, I want to carry....

Give us a call, we will give you the class... be glad to. I actually have some room in this Sat class due to a reschedule, so let us know Tuesday morning if you want to get into that one. Cost is $75.

What time is the Saturday class, and do you loan guns for the class? I have to chapperone a HS Prom on Friday night, but I could probably make it....
