That's where I got mine for a oil drum smoker years ago. Great service and price was good too!

Good luck!

If you can use poly instead of steel, the Coke bottling plant here in Nashville sells their old syrup drums for $7 each. I've got a friend who uses several as rain barrels.

Do you happen to know who to contact about that? I would be interested in a couple of those too...

Here's the answer I got back from my friend:

I don't have a specific contact, but here's the phone number for the plant on Craighead: 383-6230. I remember getting transferred around a little bit. Basically, if you call a day or two ahead, they'll set the barrels aside for you, and then you can drive out and pick them up. They were either $5 or $10 a piece; I can't remember now. Security was tighter than I would have expected, and it took a while for someone to actually bring out the barrels, but everyone was pretty friendly.

I have another friend who got some barrels from the same place recently. If anyone gives them a call, give us a follow up in this thread.

Monchellas Williams was the contact for selling barrels from the Coke factory in Nashville. I just spoke to her and she said they stopped selling barrels to the public 3 years ago.

That's interesting information. The guys I know haven't had their barrels for more than a year. Maybe one hand doesn't know what the other is doing?

Certainly is possible. I found her name on a forum post on another site from 2008 saying she was the contact. I initially talked to the sales division and they both said Coke recycles their barrels. Maybe the recycler is the one to talk to.

Good folks at the Nashville barrel and drum. I have only bought reconditioned drums there which are not food grade and they run about 25$ each
