Ok, so now what? Three states, three different winners.

Ok, Gingrich is predicted to win South Carolina. Santorum actually won Iowa. Mitt won New Hampshire. Ron Paul has yet to win a state, but is consistently 2nd or 3rd.

What does this mean? What do you think will happen now?

Presently, I think it shows Mitt as the media darling. Santorum as the Religious Right darling. Gingrich as the flavor of the month (too many bad issues, from House Ethics Violations and fines, to having an affair while slamming the then President for his adultery, to Freddie Mac $$$) And Ron Paul as the favorite of this forum and others, like the military.

What are your thoughts on this?

You can kiss our guns goodbye if Obama wins re-election. He has nothing to hold back on with a 2nd term and will also potentially appoint 2 or 3 more anti-2nd Amendment SCOTUS Judges on the bench. Even if you don't like any of the candidates you better press hard for whoever it may be to defeat Barack Hussein Obama.

You know, I am sick of the "Vote for the Less Evil" candidate. This view is directly at fault for getting the U.S. to where it is today...

Nothing to hold him back? It's called Congress. You're right about the SCOTUS though.

A vote for the lesser evil candidate MIGHT get Obama out of office. Voting any other way will guarantee Obama will stay in office. If Obama turns the power in the SCOTUS, we'll be screwed for a very long while.

The decision in Texas will make its way to scotus eventually. That is plenty of reason to not want four more.

Idealogically there is not much difference betwenn obama and whoever

Obama believes in Marism, the others believe in Capitalism. Big distinction between Obama and the Four R's. Obama will destroy America as we have always known it.

As of this post, Fox has announced Newt the winner in SC.

Newt is going to be our candidate. Newt has his issues but he is the only one who is fighting the liberal establishment and is whiling to take on the media. Santorum is a fine conservative but he acts like a whiny little girl. Plus, he is more of a social conservative which IS not going to win in this election. Mitt is is a great business leader and a true success but he has no principles for governing.

I do like Paul but he is not a president, he is a policy maker and needs a place in the administration of who ever is in office.

Newt will destroy obama if they debate and will set the agenda that will help get a republican majority in congress

They don't seem to be doing a very good job at it.

And where Congress is not willing to act, we’re going to go ahead and do it ourselves.

While an outright ban on firearms isn't going to happen, I could see further gun controls, including banning certain types of firearms via execuctive orders. This president is so out of control, I wouldn't put anything past him. In a lame duck term, what has he really got to lose? Boehner and company certainly don't have to stones to impeach him.

Newt? Sorry, I cannot vote for the "man." Adulterer, who was stooping his mistress while condemning Clinton for his adultery, and pushing for his impeachment? Married the same mistress, who is now his 3rd wife. Resigned from office due to House Ethics Violations. $1.8 MILLION for Freddie Mac in "consulting" fees, the same Freddie Mac which is responsible for the mortgage fiasco? No thanks, I pass.

Newt’s personal life has killed him. I don’t think he will get the Republican nod, but if he does; Obama has won the next election. He needs to step out and let those that have a chance of winning against Obama go at it; he’s just damaging the party right now.

You are absolutely correct. If Newt gets the nomination, he will lose. I don't care how bad Newt could beat Obama in a debate, he is not going to beat him in the general.

I hear so many people talk about the electability of the candidate, and yet they choose to vote for Newt. I just don't understand this reasoning. Newt is one of the most polarizing and despised politicians. The left and moderates absolutely loathe Newt. I only point this out because when the focus is on electability, one has to take into account that moderates will be needed to win the general. Newt ain't gonna get them in the general.

If I based my voting decision on electability of a candidate (which I don't), Newt would be the last person I would consider. I would be voting for Romney, who I can't stand. Even though he would do much better than Newt with moderates, Romney is no guarantee either. Romney's mormonism may kill him.

I just have to quit talking about all this. It is much too depressing.

I don't necessarily like Newt, but I do necessarily not like Obama more. The game

ain't over, but if it was, and thinking about the heir apparent for the last two

election cycles(Romney, that is), since yours or my candidate won't even be in the

running, stating that his history will kill him, are you so sure? Or, is it that the

media is already starting to win with their propaganda machine, having been getting

oiled up for the race, you think he has no chance? I think he is as electable as

anyone else in the race. Just the taking on of the media like he did showed me he

is viable. Whatever our principles tell us, there are some things that are going to

happen to anyone who has been inside the beltway. It is like Candyland there.

I'll take Newt, and I'll not bother watching all the negative ads his opponent

generates. The negative ads will be there, regardless of who is Obama's

challenger.

From what I read on RedState, one explanation about Newt's win there, is that the

People are getting extremely frustrated with the GOP elite sending "their" candidate

and forgetting what the Tea Party movement did in 2010. Makes sense to me, since I'm

inclined to back the Tea Party movement.

This entire election cycle will either kill our country or keep our heads above water.

There's your choice. Make it count. I'm still for the last man standing on the right side.

The only problem I have about that AR is I have been saying this long before the media or other candidates have taken it up.

The only thing I am hoping for now is that Newt and Santorum will stay in the race as long as possible splitting up the delegates. I wouldn't mind seeing a brokered convention. We have some very strong conservatives within the GOP. Unfortunately, none of them decided to run for president. We need someone like a Jim DeMint to go up against Obama.

My vote is for Newt and it comes down to morals over politics. Has he done some wrong in his life? Yes, but who hasn't?

Enough is said about Romney in the first 60 seconds of this video!

Whoever the nominee is we MUST vote for them. We cannot afford another 4 years of what we have! Can we all agree on that?

I’ve said that all along. The liberal Democrats are united in the “What free handouts do you have for us?†form of big government. Conservative Republicans tend to get split over the minor :) issues like the Economy, Jobs, Abortion, Gun Control, etc.

I think Republicans tend to not go vote if “Their Candidate†is not left in the running. They don’t see it as impacting their job or lifestyle the way the Dems do.

I have talked to many people that say because of their jobs they can’t get to the polls to vote. I know that’s a lame excuse, but when you don’t work and a bus is going to show up to take you to the polls; it makes a difference.

I still think the odds on favorite to win the Republican Nomination is Romney, because he has the better organization. Gingrich and Santorum aren't even on the ballot in VA for goodness sake! How can you win an election when you can't even get on the ballot in all fifty states? For that matter, I'm not sure Gingrich is on the ballot here yet.
