First AR will be a suppressed SBR, did I get thr right parts?

Ok, so I am getting everything lined up for my first AR build. I should receive my trust soon from a forum sponsor. I am going to get everything but the barrel now. Once the form 1 shows up I will get the barrel.

Here is my parts list, did I miss anything?

Why the heavy buffer? They are generally an afterthought if there is reliability issues.

Because it is being suppressed I would seriously consider an adjustable gas block. They can be adjusted to keep crud out of the shooters face and keep the gun running cleaner, longer as well.

Other than those two items you should have a nice build.

I got the heavy buffer because I have heard they cut back on recoil. I think that is important to keep the gun on target.

Even if I plan on always shooting suppressed, is an adjustable gas block important? I want one that can fit under the rail.

A suppressor is going to do more to reduce felt recoil than a heavy buffer.

With a positional gas block you can optimize the system to keep crud down. You can also use it to reduce the cycling speed and in turn the felt recoil. A suppressed gun has so much more back pressure that it can over gas the gun if not factored in. This excessive cycling speed wears out parts and increases felt recoil if not managed somehow. The gun will work without it but it needs to be taken into consideration.

At a bare minimum I would suggest using and adjustable gas block, like a JP enterprise unit, then lock the setting in place once the gas system is optimized for use with the suppressor. Using an adjustable gas block you can fool the gun into acting like the gas system is a lot longer with less operating pressure. This reduces the cycling speed felt recoil and the amount of crud deposited into the receiver.

The way you adjust the JP unit is this. Bottom out the gas block adjustment screw then open the screw 1/4 turn and fire the round. If the round doesn't eject open it up another 1/4 turn and do it again. When you get to a point where the round ejects and the bolt locks back on the empty magazine you are good. If the gun has any issues when it gets dirty add another 1/8 turn. It is important you do this in small increments. You want just enough gas to operate it reliably but not excessively.

But I would seriously look at a gas block that has multiple independent settings.

My BCM 11.5 " SBR came with an H2 buffer in it and runs flawlessly with or without my can on it. I'd spend a little more on better LPK since you've picked a premium lower but that's just me.

OK, so I found an adjustable gas block that I think will fit under the Larue handguard. I am thinking about the Syrac Ordnance gas block.

As far as the LPK, i already have a DPMS kit. However, i thought the kit wasn't all the important. What is a better kit that I should look at?

I have been using DPMS kits for years without a single issue. I have also used the high end kits without issue. For the money the DPMS kit can't be beat. That is one thing DPMS does well.
