It was some yrs ago in Texas I took the 1st class given and got a Handgun permit along with a friend, we finished the class on a Sunday afternoon. In 3 weeks we had the permit, got it on a Monday. That night we went coyote hunting and left just after dark, we got caught by a redlight leaving town while stopped at it we had the car infront of us back up some to cut us off and the car behind us pull up real close to eliminate backing up, two people came from the rear car one on each side of us with hoodies on. We both were aware of what was happening for the last 10-20 seconds, they came to each window in our pickup and met 2 1911 45 acp Gen Officers models about 6" from their face. In my whole life I have never seen 2 people literally run faster than their legs would operate, they were almost trying to run in air it seemed and jumped through the windows of their car, the driver flew backwards as fast as the car would go and at the same time the front car drove off also. We phoned the PD and gave plate numbers of the front car, we never heard anymore of it but sure never forgot it.

interesting story....had a guy in ATL try and get in my truck while blocked in at a gas station in the middle of the night. He too got a close look of a barrell. However, a cop was in the parking lot and saw the whole thing. They "cuffed and stuffed" him.

Glad you handled it the way you did. Good story with good ending!

Larry-

Its a good thing you were not an off-duty police officer. Half the board would be calling for your arrest on aggravated assault charges! Seriously though, glad everything worked out.

Similar incedent happened to me at a stop sign in broad daylight right outside Chicago. Two teenaged pedestrians turned into a disappearing act. Then my liberal brother who had recently graduated from college flipped out because I had a gun.

A couple years later I was sitting at a red light in Pontiac Michigan when a laser dot started dancing across my dashboard. I looked to my left and saw a car load of smiling Mexicans. I smiled back and help up my EAA witness in 45 ACP. They ran the red light with tires squealing.

Haven't had an incedent since

I bet you that guy in the hoodie in my driveway at 2am while I was unloading my truck will never come back

EX LE here. I have been involved in 2 more incedints also 1 not as serious the other a shooting with an officer losing his life, I was not an officer then just a bystander with a Texas Permit. I was involved in a bank robbery shootout. Detained for a day and in court for a week. I can honestly say when the shtf you dont need to be told to take cover and put as much distance between you as possible even with my bad leg.
