How about this, the LCR may be the first gun Ruger has produced in the last 20 yrs that hasn't had some kind of recall.

I bought a LCR .357 yesterday and went to the range today. I shot 125 gr. FMJ winchester rounds and I think kick is mild for what this gun is. I love it, its my new primary carry, and since most self-defense situations occur within 7 ft., I could care less about pinpoint accuracy. How can you beat a weapon like this for around $400? Anybody got ideas on the best 125 gr. self-defense rounds? Seems like the top 5 ammo dogs in the U.S. make a pretty mean round anyhow. Splitting hairs at this point on which brand to buy?

I have an LCR .357 and it's great. Gold Dot short barrel magnums aren't at all to much to handle. Golden Sabers work well too. 158 grain full magnum loads are more recoil than I like when shot in the LCR. What I like about the .357 LCR is the stainless steel frame as opposed to aluminum and the fact that I can shoot an array of ammo in it.

Second the motion here, specifically on the Gold Dot or Golden Saber. Substantially hotter than .38+P, yet recoil is very manageable. And both loads reduce muzzle flash. Really like the LCR and really want the .22 - just because!

FYI, Aim Surplus has the Golden Saber's for $15.

I had a one and couldn't hit myself in the foot with it. I sold it.

The LCR is a gun that required practice, especially if you are not used to a revolver trigger.
