Just a quick guess. Kinda looks like one of the Husky/Malmute dogs to me. I've had a few and several litters of them over the years. Great and beautiful animals. The spotted gums and tongue along with the icy blue eyes make me think this.

I wish my Husky was that mean instead of being such a chicken.

As you can see my dog is a real man eater.

My two hounds look laid back like your Husky most of the time. Most of the time they get along fine and are best of pals. They love people and would probably greet a burglar and ask for a snack.

Every other blue moon they will have a fight. The old man always "wins" but the old man is also a bloody mess with vet bills. The young dog always "loses" and most often nary a scratch. Classic example of pyrrhic victory.

Have seen that back-off face more often than would like. Usually nip it in the bud before it is "on" and shame them, make em put on their dunce hats and sit in their chairs on opposite sides of the room til they cool off. Sometimes end up holding em apart by the collars looking at two of those faces, and drag em close enough to a door to trap one in another room till they cool down.

But once it is "on" you don't intervene unless you have help. A full fight is maybe once a year and a close encounter maybe twice a year but that is too frequent.

Even a chicken dog is capable of that response. Yours just lacks sufficient motive. :D

I have two under-20-pound Jack Russells that can go at it like badgers. It ain't the size of the dog in the fight . . . .

Man oh man, I had one while stationed in Spokane Wa. at Fairchild AFB. She was a pup and had paws as big as my hands, she could knock you down just playing. Very smart and very hard to keep chained up. Wished I had one like her now. Beautiful animals and STRONG.

Nothing worse than a bag full of pit-yorkies.....

Beautiful dog, Erik. How does he/she like Fla? Ours always liked to submarine in the wading pool we kept in the back yard for them when it was hot. And you haven't enjoyed a day with your dogs til you've tried to herd 6 Siberian puppies and their parents in a yard. If I can find a pic of them, I'll send it.
