Gen 3 G21 - added night sights, TLR-1 light, ordered a stainless steel guide rod/spring assembly. What else can you do to increase performance and durablilty, and are the replacement barrels offered from other manufacturers any more reliable than factory? This is a " shelf " gun, not a primary carry weapon, but I have 10 mags I keep loaded ( not at full capacity ) in case a team of Russian frog-men stop by...do I NEED extended slide release, or extended mag release. This would be a 2nd weapon option for me let's just say, in the middle of the night when primary is out of ammo. Thanks to anyone who takes time to help and comment.

I have found that I enjoy the extended slide release, esp on a meaty piece like the G21. For me, I'm able to use my right thumb to get a better grip on the release during reloads.

I have also added a 3.5 lb trigger connector, makes for a light and consistent trigger pull.

Both those mods are easy, taking about 10 minutes.

Get a extended take down too. Everyone with a Glock needs this. Having big hands and not much fingernail, the extended take down has righted the universe for me.

I have done so, you give good advice. She is now complete, now on to my new toy, the Gen 3 G30

ALL of my Glock have; Scherer 3.5lb connector, Glockworx trigger spring, factory extended magazine release and slide stop, slug plug, rubber Talon Grips, and night sights. Thats it for me, everything else I have always found to be a waste.

When I am installing the trigger connector and spring I take some time and stone the contacting surfaces.

Now after reading all this info, I've put away the 30 and gone back to my 21 circus. So, factory extended mag release I'm getting. I found a titantium, extended, slide-lock lever but don't know what difference that will make for $22.95. I would like to move towards a lone wolf extended/ported barrel, but also there's a threaded barrel and compensator route you can take. What's the difference? Just the extended, ported barrel is $125.00 but threaded barrel + compensator is $200. Which route is better?

All my glocks have the 3.5# connector and a NY+1 spring. Gives it a better trigger feel. I have not tried the fulcrum trigger, for I don't know what advantage it has. On by carry subcompacts I have added night sights and ss dual guide rod with heavier springs. I leave the rest as stocked.

Why replace the barrel on a 45 ACP Glock? If you plan to shoot lead shoot away the .45s don't have the polygonal rifling,

I believe you are mistaken. Its my understanding that the 45 acp versions do have polygonal rifling. They use octagonal rifling instead of hexagonal on all the other models though. But it is still polygonal just 8 sides instead of 6 because it works better on the larger bore.

If you plan to shoot lead get an aftermarket barrel, if not the factory will be perfect for all but lead.

Ghost tactical 4.5 disconnector is what I have always used. I have thousand of rounds through a 21.

Good luck

whatever the point is the rifiling in the .45 Glocks don't "lead" like the other calibers supposedly do
