Value of a "Collectors Benchmade Bedlam Automatic first production #31 out of 500"

A guy is wanting to trade me the above knife for a scope, says it's worth a decent amount. It's not that I don't trust him, it's just that I want to see what other people have to say about it and the value of it.

I'd PM Major Kong, that guy knows everything about knives.

Will do. I just find it funny that someone that spent something like 700 dollars on a knife would trade it for a scope... I mean it seems really suspicious, in my mind at least.

I mean this seems like a pretty good sounding board so I thought well, heck why not ask everyone else and see what they think about the legitimacy of that claim.

Well, I've certainly found this thread quite instructive so far. Oh wait..

I still don't know what kind of scope is being talked about. As far as the Bedlam goes, I have seen 1st production runs sell for a little under $150 to slightly over $150.

Yeah I already decided not to do it after I got the first e-mail from this guy. I figured he got taken and now he's trying to do it to someone else.

For the most part first production run Benchmades aren't really all that special. I paid $175.00 for my first production run Bedlam when they came out. Okay enough knife but the blade is kind of thin. It has cut lots of stuff though!

I never went for it. Knew it was a horrible idea but the guy trying to trade me didn't think so. Funny part is I got another e-mail a month later when I put the listing back up and he had changed his story yet again. This time it had something that involved a Navy Seal, unfortunately I deleted it and forgot what he said.
