I have the strikefire and I'm getting ready to order a sparc...They are great optics!! You can't beat they're customer service and they're optics are top notch for the price!!

What is the reason for going with a SPARC? I looked at that, too. I am thinking about mounting the strikefire for coyote hunting because I wan to use my AR instead of my hunting rifle. Is either the strikefire or SPARC practical for that?

I have the strikefire. I like it, but I have never used an aimpoint or eotech or anything really expensive. It did break after I had had it about a year. Of course Vortex fixed it for free, but until the moment it broke(during a three gun stage), I never knew why anyone would buy anything else. Now I guess I know why. They said the on/off switch broke. I still use the strikefire in the bit of competitive shooting that I do. I believe it is well worth the money, of course if this switch breaking is a yearly occurence, my opinion will change.

I the sparc's on two rifles and they have served me well but I have not had them long - around 1000 rounds through an AR-15 and 500 through a 9mm CX4 over the past 6 months. The 2x magnifier is nice for my old eyes when shooting 100yds or beyond.

Vortex's CS is outstanding however their red dots were lackluster in performance. I purchased a Strikefire when they were first released. I liked how it came with a mount AND a 2x magnifier. After zeroing I placed my carbine in its bag and tossed it on the ground. This ended up breaking a ring inside of the optic housing. I called Vortex the next day and they replaced my optic no questions asked. I traded the replacement for a Benchmade AFO then bought an Aimpoint. After that I never skimped on quality optics. Even if this was going on a plinker I probably still wouldn't buy another. The red dot market is dominated by Aimpoint for a reason. No BS plain and simple design and battle proven quality.
