Should I add another revolver?

I got it for $275 OTD because it was a little ruffer than I remember it being before.

Does anyone believe these grips came on it? Also it's older than I thought. Serial No. 638xxx

Nope. Those aren't original grips. It would have came with diamond checkered wood grips. The gun has been refinished as well. Assuming it is mechanically sound, however, you got a fine carry revolver at a fair very price.

I can't tell if your M-36 has been refinished or not and really didn't care because it look's like a perfect cayy gun to me. The rest doesn't matter because you got a great price on that gun, I'm very picky about used gun's and I'd have bought it myself. If you want to know the original finish either write S&W and request a history or check in one of the better S&W collector's book's. Your a lucky man for having a wife who allow's you to be a gunnie and for finding such a nice older M-36.

I've allready planned on spending "fiffy" dollars for the letter. The letter I have for one of my others states what grips it shipped with so maybe this one will.

The dead giveaway is that the trigger and hammer would be color case hardened on a factory nickel gun. Also, if you'll look at the ejector star, or whatever you call that thing, it should be blued, even on a nickel gun from Smith. You can see dings on the sideplate around the cylinder release latch that have been finished over. I'm not trying to dis your gun, I'm just being frank about the condition. If it were mine, I'd spend the money for the letter on ammo, and proudly carry your new revolver.

No thats cool, I like the history, the only reaon I got it. Theres a lot better carry guns than this anyway.
