Those of you who carry a Ruger SP101...what holster do you carry it in? I will be getting one soon.

(BTW...I am more apt to carry OWB than IWB. Might carry IWB, too)

IWB? OWB? WTF?

I used a Bullard Dual Carry IWB for a time, very comfy:

Its on the verge of being heavy enough that IWB carry is what will be comfortable. What style of carry are you thinking. Ill tell you its too heavy for ankle or pocket carry.

I used a DeSantis pocket holster for mine most of the time, but sometimes I used a Fobus paddle holster.

The most comfy was a modified Hunter 1130. It's made for a Ruger Alaskan, but I relocated the hammer strap to go behind the trigger guard. It was an excellent holster.

I don't carry my sp101 often. It usually goes to the woods with me but when I do, I usually carry in a Fobus paddle. The 3" barrel sticks out a little. I also have an old leather holster with S&W stamped on the belt loop. I picked it up used at Franklin Gun Shop a couple years ago. aefcb1ab-b2ce-b8d4.jpgaefcb1ab-b20c-07d6.jpg

Simply rugged makes their "sourdough pancake" silver dollar holster. One of the best made for a smaller revolver like the SP. Mine works with my J-frame too.

That leather one is a Hunter 1100 series. Great holster, huh?

I use one of those soft IWB holsters from bianchi it is the type holster that fits 10 or 12 other guns. The SP101 is not my primary carry. I usually carry it when I don't feel like carrying a real gun but still want to have real gun power.

I bought a used Galco FL118 FLETCH HIGH RIDE BELT HOLSTER that I bought used from a fellow TGO member and really like it. I wasn't that interested in carrying my SP because of the weight but using this holster changed my mind, conceals it well too.

I also don't like IWB but I have one for my P238 and I'm happy with it, dedicated part of jeans for it too. B)
