this has been a very useful discussion, thank you all, i was sure some one would throw out the BS flag.

now that cyh has given a rifle a cool name i just need to fine away to put it boldly on the "little AR that could"

allycat i would really like to the video.

thank you all

Because your rifle is pitched up at those long ranges. If you roll the rifle to one side or the other, it takes less pitch to put the crosshair on the target. That's why I watches my bubble...

so do not leave us hanging what do have in the picture?

It's real close to yours. Believe it or not, I've been calling it the little AR that could, because I've been shooting with guys that have real guns :D. I'll be out shooting 1k this wekend with some new 80g Berger and AMAX loads.

It's a 24" 8 twist. Not as good as the White Oak (at least not supposed to be). Here's the whole thing...

a great looking rifle! based on the things you have told me about i am sure you will do great! i know damn well you can beat a 136. because you will not have any zero's on your score card!

Thanks. We don't shoot for score. We just shoot at stuff

Jim is a good guy, a lil on the anal side at times, but he is a good person to know and shoot with.

Awww, c'mon, Randy! I am an engineer - I can't help myself...

is it golf balls at 800 yards in the fastest time or lease amount of shots?

I didn't get off the 200 yard targets today. Long story. Okey shot some 1k, but not much.

Here is a link to some guys that were shooting with us. It was a .416 Barrett caliber. Not sure the brand of rifle. Don't think they hit anything over 200 yards.

The last rifle in the video is my buddy shooting my .223

Okey

it looks like that 416, may have just a little recoil!

with the size of that brake, i am surprised you left the door open on the shoot house.

The 416 was loud. It was a nice spectacle, but one of the things that cut into the shooting time. Hard to shoot tight groups when the building is jumping :)

So I am a noob here and to long shooting. Shot some at woodbury and getting hooked. I have no questions on technique or equipment yet.

If I got this right, you had a 1k match at the base in tullahoma? What is the story on shooting there? Is there a membership involved?

no i am not a member, but you need 1k yard set up, as you can see i was using a AR 20" in5.56 with all the check dope for the scope gun and round, besure you have 30mm scope for increased ajustment range and 20 MOA offset mount.

once that got over the horror of my set-up get when a great bunch of guys!

credmoore sports has lots of stuff to help you out.

find somewere to shoot 600-800 yards check the drop compared to what the dope says notice the wind and what did.

good luck
