This is not a "Sit-It-Out-And-Pout" election. This is a "Get-Obama-Out" election.

I wouldn't attack BHO for being too liberal because that is a hard argument to make.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!

I had to stop reading when I got to this line. This is one of the most liberal people in the world.

The theme would be "suspicion of deception" regardless whether it would be muslim masquerading as christian, atheist masquerading as christian, christian masquerading as buddhist, extremist masquerading as moderate, whatever.

Suspicion is not fact. Sometimes shopping for a car there is "something not quite right" with the salesman or the deal even if you can't quite put your finger on what's wrong. Sometimes it is over-active imagination and sometimes it ain't.

Obama is not masquerading as anything. He was very clear that he would fundamentally transform America. Well he has–and not for the better.

Sorry Lester, this is not about over-active imagination. BHO is simply one of the most dangerous people on the planet.

Over 50% of the American population gets some form of government hand out. As JFK said, "As not what you can do for your country but, what your country can do for you". Generational welfare is not a limited benefit, it's called an ENTITLEMENT. Any potential political canadate who proposes cuts / elimination to un-constitutional programs won't get elected in this day and age of personal and corporate welfare. The mass will gravitate to the canadate that promises the most handouts. IMO, any chance of a Republican or independent getting elected to the office of president would require a split in the democratic voting ticket. BHO is almost assured a second term as it stands now.

Dennis, your stats are off by about 30% and you completely botched that JFK quote. You are correct in stating cuts to entitlement programs will not win this election. If Romney gets the GOP nomination, you will see class warfare at it's highest level on a national level.

Not exactly, Dennis, but for the left that is accurate. Bush and his compassionate conservatism also

fit in this trend. Newt Gingrich is actively, during these debates and in other medium, advocating

cutting the size of government and is hinting at where. whether one likes him or not, he is saying a lot

of the right things, and is showing people his oratory skills. even if he is a progressive in conservative

clothing, I would be happy to see him overtake romney.

What actually defines a socialist? I don't think it's a card you carry in your pocket or an institution you secretly or overtly subscribe to. His efforts on health care alone and his views on how it is an "entitlement" is well into socialist territory. Once "socialist" is no longer a dirty word (like it isn't in Europe) people like Obama will label themselves as such, but for now, just because he says he isn't doesn't mean he isn't. The proof is in his actions, not his words.

Well what about actual socialists?

Ask the card-carrying socialists: Is Obama one of them? - CNN

From Obama's actions I would say he is just another statist corporatist.

But that isn't quite right is it? I'd say, honestly, that I think Obama is the most obvious thing, no reason to imagine subterfuge. Obama is a politician who wants to be elected.

Which is fine. I appreciate this. The problem is that the people who just want to get elected are about getting elected, not about principles.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!

I had to stop reading when I got to this line. This is one of the most liberal people in the world.

Really? Obama is one of the most liberal people in the world? I mean we have 6 billion people and out of all those he is the most liberal? Even when a lot of democrats consider him to conservative. Even when He would be seen as the conservative option in most countries?

Maybe, perhaps, you are falling for the spin and not looking at the world objectively. I won't say he's good president or anything but calling Obama the most liberal person in the world tells me you don't have a objective worl view. You have a view based on emotion. which is fine. Good luck with that.

Is that not in the socialist realm?

I agree, all politicians (not just Obama) are just concerned with getting votes and seek the best way to get them, but he sits on the socialist side of the fence. Once he's not worried about getting votes anymore which way is he gonna go? His economic policies are inherently socialist even if we don't use the "S" word. Other assessments can be left to opinion, such as him being a closet Muslim or secret Nazi or Darth Vader or whatever else, but his actions as President define him. Just using the word "entitlement" screams socialism. The two go hand in hand.

well I'm still not convinced I should vote for someone else just because he has a different letter after his name in (). This country was founded on the Constitution. I believe in the Constitution. I'm voting for the Candidate that has a voting record most inline with the Constitution.

Oh, sorry, this changes everything. If Democrats consider him conservative, he must be conservative. Next thing you will do is quote CNN. Oh wait, you did…

You are correct. With six billion people in the world you might find one or two more liberal than BHO. But you will not find one in a position of (his level of) power that is more liberal. If he gets his way, we will look like every other communist country in the world. Devastated.

History proves time and time again what happens when socialism takes root. Countries are destroyed. Ignore what is happening. Stick your head in the sand and things might be OK. Good luck with THAT.

The single best thing this country could do right now is remove the ® or (D) next to a candidates name. That would force people to research and vote for the candidate the best represents their views. The majority of the people vote party lines rather than for what they believe. I think it has more to do with people being lazy than anything else. If the majority of people would research the candidates they would realize that their candidates are not people they would vote to represent them.

Any way you shake this is probably the most important election we have seen in a very, very long time. And the choices we are being given are not going to be good for the American people.

I've decided to vote against any incumbent; any. No one deserves a second term. If a Republican takes the helm next and keeps screwing this goat I'll vote for whoever goes up against him. Maybe if all our elected leadership in Washington knew that their political careers were to end at first term if they don't get their crap together then they would start focusing on their JOBS and not hanging on to power.

I'm not saying deception is not involved somehow. I strongly suspect that deception is involved somehow.

Am allowing that sometimes when the majority of people have a "hunch" that the hunch is correct. That is a decent-enough rationale why a democratic republic might tend to work better than any "benevolent dictatorship" run by the "experts".

But there are times when even the majority has a "hunch" and it turns out dead wrong. That is how we got Obama in the first place. Which is obvious proof that the majority doesn't ALWAYS pick the best solution.

Is that not in the socialist realm?

The term Corporatism is a less-emotionally-charged synonym of Fascism. Too many people misunderstand what fascism is, and apply it in the wrong places where it doesn't apply. When Mussolini heard the term Corporatism he liked it better and thought it was more descriptive than his term Fascism.

Sometimes the gov runs the corporations and sometimes the corporations run the gov. At the same time. The gov can be whacking corporations over the head with one hand and handing them billions of unearned dollars with the other. A cooperative power trip between corps and politicians. Sometimes it goes hand-in-hand with the pretense of doing it for the people, and making vast hand-outs to the people. Look at Peron of Argentina.

This has nothing to do with hunches. BO has been very clear where he wants to take America. And as long as 50% +1 want that direction, that is what we will get. When you have over 50% paying no taxes, you wind up moving socialist, because the moochers will continually vote to take from the producers. Eventually you lose all the producers. What comes next is predictable. Look at the history books.

Liberalism is a disease that causes socialism, that causes communism, that causes death. No form of government in history has caused the direct death of so many.

Deception is what is used when someone wants someone else to think they are

doing something they're not. It happens every day by many politicians. It's been

happening every day of the Obama administration. Left hand, right hand? He just

struck down the pipeline by the same old trick. Now, why did he want that? It

must have had something to do with killing the possibility of more jobs. Oh no!

It was the environment, I'm sure.

Health Care Bill? deception

Make your own list. I'm too tired of typing the same thing over and over.

You can stare evil in the face, but if you are so conditioned to not see it, like

the media has done by us watching it over and over again, it won't be evil.

The man is evil, not just a politician. Everything he has done has been to hurt

a segment or all of this society. It started with the very first act in the Oval

office. And if you like her, remember, Hillary tried to do the same thing when

she was a First Lady, instead of an elected official. Remember the Assault

Weapons Ban? Remember Hillary Care?

Today's modern day Democrat is communism personified. I equate that with

evil. Deception is part of their toolbox.

His post stated 6, and I thought about correcting it, but decided to just focus on the real error–that BHO is not really a liberal.

Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee chair said during a "Politics and Eggs" forum this morning. "The discourse in America, the discourse in Congress in particular . . . has really changed, I'll tell you. I hesitate to place blame, but I have noticed it take a very precipitous turn towards edginess and lack of civility with the growth of the Tea Party movement."

"You had town hall meetings that they tried to take over, and you saw some their conduct at those tea party meetings," Wasserman Schultz said today. "When they come and disagree with you, you're not just wrong, you're the enemy."

Warming to that theme, she added that "when they disagree with you on an issue, you're not just wrong, you're a liar."

Tell me if there has been any deaths, defecating on Police cars, rapes and vandalism during Tea Party Rally's? The Libs own the OWS so called movement, Pelosi and several others on the left support them. Now we have someone who threw smoke bombs of some sort over the fence of the WH lawn. Tell me if anything of the sort happened at Tea Partys?

You are exactly right AR, these people hate America and want a socialist nation, they must be defeated. :usa:

Yea, the mis-quote was intentional. I forgot where I saw the official statistics but that figure of over 50% is correct. Welfare, food stamps, Section 8 housing, government assistance, SWIC, aid for dependent children, earned income allowance & SSI just to name a few. I'll bet my bippy on that :-)

Yeah, I know. I just seldom miss an opportunity to mention population, which ultimately is root cause of a necessary decline, my "environmental economics" lecture. :usa:

No sense speeding it up by adding Idiot Economics, though.

Every person on earth, all 7 billion, could fit in an area so small it would blow your mind.

Tennessee Right to Life - Overpopulation Myths (United Against Abortion, Infanticide, Euthanasia, Human Cloning and Fetal Tissue Research.)

Standing arms length apart, all could fit within the city of Jacksonville, Florida.

Split up into family units of 4, and each family given a 50' x 50' piece of land, all 7 billion could fit in the state of Montana, with room left over.

The earth has a LOT more resources than we can use in thousands of years. It is 3/4 water. It filters its own water. It creates it's own petroleum lubricant deep within the crust and mantle of the earth. Fish are abundant in the ocean. It can sustain a LOT of people. That's what it's here for.

None of that matters. What matters is what it costs to get dwindling and harder to access resources to the end users, and how many of the end users can afford the end product. Of course one's consumption footprint is vastly larger than the area required to merely contain it.

Practically speaking, we'll be "out of stuff" long before the planet is.
