So...I mowed the grass

You ever hear about parents who see that their child has a black stool and think they have internal bleeding? Feeding your kid Oreos does that.

I don't know which is funnier... the concept of the oreo excrement, or the fact that I know this for a fact through my own kids.

In your old age, I'd err on the side of internal bleeding... better check those Depends™ regularly. :D

I haven't had to mow my yard in 3 weeks! It is still green. I do have some bermuda that is sending out it's seed pods or whatever they are. The last time I used the weed eater, Homelite, I ran out of line, so I went to Lowes and bought a new spool. Get to change that out this weekend. The fun I had came this past weekend. My mailbox door had rusted at one of the hinges and it was not working very well. Bought a new mailbox, came home, tried to uninstall broken mailbox. Well the screws that went through the metal into the wood were rusted and basically disentigrated when I tried to remove them. But, I also notice that the mailbox post, wood, was moving and leaning a little. I pushed and pulled a little and that sucker moved a lot! I pulled up ever so slightly on the mailbox and out it came, the wood about 2" below the ground was rotten, all the way down. Ok, new post needed. Got new post, got new mail box, got new mounting plate. Get tools, which consisted of a hoe, 2 shovels and a post hole digger. I also have a tool that has an end on it that looks like this -<, it is I guess for pulling weeds, at least that's what I use it for. Anyway, I dig out the top of the ground down to the concrete that the originial post went in to dig out and put the new post into. Think to myself, funny, that looks kinda small, so I pick up the new post, it won't fit. The other post is smaller, not a 4X4. So plan B. I have to dig a hole next to the existing. Grab the post hole diggers and got to digg'n. Got to my desired depth, and put the post in, Filled in the dirt, a little bit at a time, had a level, made sure I was level in all directions, put more dirt in, rechecked level, used that tool I mentioned earlier to push dirt down the sides. I didn't have any concrete, so I just put it in the hole that is barely bigger than the post, tight fit. Hopefully the dirt will hold it. Packed down the dirt on top, put some water on it, packed it some more. Been like that since Saturday, very sturdy so far. If it gets loose, I will get me some quikcrete and go that route, but so far so good.

This sounds like an awesome plan for the weekend...more than likely I'm going to be at Marks' house, helping him to rebuild that deck of his.

Well, the weather is nice, so I plan to move the junk in front of my storage building to the newly cleared rear of the storage building and mow the grass where the junk was - about 10 square feet. Then I plan to come in, watch TV, play with the dogs, eat brownies and cookies and have something to drink.

Taco salad sounds good for supper.

Sounds like a good plan for a weekend.

By the way post hole diggers were invented by evil people.

that sounds great! I think they now have all the under the house work done, they need to start working on rebuilding a new deck. any help given would surely be appreciated. It sucks that Mark has to do this when he's home...he never gets a chance to relax! make no mistake, they work him hard on the boat..and there's no comfort there, for 4-6 months at a time, so any time he gets to relax without a lot of chores is a good thing.

Mark or Elliott, whats the situation up there this weekend? Do you all need some help or no? Is there something a crappy carpenter could do? I can lift and tote.
