I came accross an SK-47 in good condition.

Can anyone give me an idea of its resale value?

Since the S is next to the A key, I assume you mean an AK-47? If so, we need a lot more info to be able to tell the value of it. Quality and value vary wildly with different manufacturers. Or maybe you meant SKS?

To the best of my knowledge, and to the best of my Googling, there is no such rifle called the SKS-47. And our AK-47? Where are you from, Russia? Either way, if you're still mistaken, Asia is an awful big place, might need to narrow it down more.

Blade, are you maybe talking about a Norinco SKS-D? This is a very specific Chinese variant of the SKS that takes AK-47 magazines. Example:

As for value, it's hard to say. You can buy a lower-end AK-47 (the Romanian WASR-10 being a good example) for $450-$500 brand new any day of the week. The SKS-D or -M (if that is what you have) is interesting to some just because it's unusual. I only see one up on gunbroker right now and the guy wants $600 for it as the buy-it-now. With only one example up it's hard to know if that's a reasonable price or not. Me personally I wouldn't give you more than $500 for one.

If you have a more conventional SKS it will be worth less. By "Asian" I'm going to guess you mean Chinese? It's possible you have a North Korean model, but less likely. I'd guess you'd get somewhere between $250 and $300 for one, but I honestly haven't kept up with the market on them lately.

It would help a lot if you could give us the model #. Pictures, especially including markings (you can black out the serial # if you prefer) would really make it much easier.

Okay, then let's start with the basics of identifying exactly what you have. Again, pictures would help. If you can't do that, then type in a list of all the markings you see on it.

Ok, well than that's a Norinco SKS. I've seen them go for $200-$400 depending on model and condition.
