Nashville - nice place to eat?

I'm getting sent out of town for work and I'm going to miss my anniversary.

I'm trying to take my wife somewhere nice tonight to help make up for it. I don't usually eat at many high end places so I'm unsure where to go.

I'm not looking for any specific type of food, just a nice romantic place with good food.

Any places I should look at?

The Melting Pot is a nice choice for date night.

Ive lived here 18years and dine out for business and pleasure often, there are many excellent places to eat that won't break the bank...

The Boundry Excellent

Sambuca, above average

Sunset Grille, Excellent

Virago, Waste of $$$

Ruths Chris, Hi end Chain food and just expensive

Fish n Company EXCELLENT!

Were a city FULL of great places to eat...If you need more options just let me know...Happy Anniversary and enjoy~

Watermark, Boundry, Sambuca, Midtown Cafe, Meil, Park Cafe, Cafe Nona, and Margot's are all great options. Plenty of other good places as well, but those stand out.

As already stated, don't bother with Ruth's Chris, it really is just a high end chain food restaurant. Everything is overpriced, and food isn't that great.

Sunset grill is anti gun. It may be posted too - not sure as I won't eat there.

Randy Rayburn has made sure that many of the better eateries in Nashville are posted.

RR also owns Midtown Cafe.

He does, and is rumored to be responsible for several campaigns to mislead THA members into posting.

I highly recommend Nero's Grill in Green Hills...Its THE PLACE my wife and I go for those "special occasions"....excellent food...exceptional wait staff...nice mello atmosphere...and an unhurried dining experience...they offer...ELK...and a New York Strip that are very very good...my personal favorite is the blackened Ahi Tuna steak

If you want to take her someplace nice, but quiet, try Jimmy Kelley's. You will not be disappointed. It ain't cheap but it's cheaper than Ruth's Chris and the steaks are every bit as good. The service there cannot be beat. Quiet, yesteryear atmosphere, romantic. Two folks can eat for a C note plus tip if you're not a cocktail drinker.

Took my wife for our anniversary. She thought she'd go for broke and have desert so she asked for a slice of chocolate cake. I swear to god they brought a quarter. As in, the dang 3 layer cake was cut ing fourths! She was actually a bit embarrassed. I had the cobbler which came in a jethro bowl [huge].

Stoney River is also not too bad.

Thanks again for recommending Margot's.

Great atmosphere and awesome food. Prices were not that bad either, I would have been out for under a c-note if I hadn't ordered a bottle of wine.
