Microsoft Clamps Down on Virtual Guns on Xbox LIVE

Apparently Microsoft is taking an anti-gun stance on it's XBox Live Marketplace. Vendors will no longer be allowed to sell avatars that are gun related. Ones that have previously been purchased can remain, but no new ones can be sold.

Sheesh, first Google, now Microsoft. What's this world coming to?

The logic is that parents can regulate the games a kid plays, but they didn't have control over the avatars of other players. Too many soccer moms probably complained about little Timmy being exposed to firearms on avatars while logged into xbox live to play Barny & Friends funtime tag with some friends.
